You’ve heard about the proposals for Universal Credit.
You’ve been consulted on Housing Benefit for supported housing.
You’re wondering how personal budgets will be implemented.

BUT what will happen and when?

Key Government proposals have been pushed back and back. So how can you prepare for a revised benefit future? Our speakers have been tasked with giving you ideas, hints and options to help you prepare. They are

- Sue Ramsden, Policy Leader at the National Housing Federation
- Alan Fraser and Richard Brookes, Birmingham YMCA
- Dan Jackson, Area Manager at the Homes and Communities Agency

In addition, the Homes and Communities Agency will give their view on the capital allocations for supported housing in the West Midlands.

This event is organised by the West Midlands Supported Housing Network (supported and facilitated by RAWM) and sponsored by Support Solutions.

The event will look at the effect of changes in housing benfits to the housing sector in the West Midlands and how the West Midlands Supported Housing Network (WMSHN) will tackle related issues. You are invited to hear:-

o Martin O’Neill, Head of Benefits, Birmingham City Council
o Michael Patterson (Director) and Danny Key (Senior Revenue Consultant), Support Solutions

- David Orr (CEO, National Housing Federation)
- Jane Slowey (CEO of the Foyer Federation)

The speakers gave their views as to the future of supported housing (post an election) and how we need to engage with new partners etc.

Our thanks go to the West Midlands Fire Service who hosted this event at their new 'Safeside' headquarters.
