You’ve heard about the proposals for Universal Credit. You’ve been consulted on Housing Benefit for supported housing. You’re wondering how personal budgets will be implemented. BUT what will happen and when? Key Government proposals have been pushed back and back. So how can you prepare for a revised benefit future? Our speakers have been tasked with giving you ideas, hints and options to help you prepare. They are - Sue Ramsden, Policy Leader at the National Housing Federation - Alan Fraser and Richard Brookes, Birmingham YMCA - Dan Jackson, Area Manager at the Homes and Communities Agency In addition, the Homes and Communities Agency will give their view on the capital allocations for supported housing in the West Midlands. Our 3rd West Midlands Supported Housing event attracted 2 key speakers to talk about the future of supported housing as they see it: - David Orr (CEO, National Housing Federation) - Jane Slowey (CEO of the Foyer Federation) The speakers gave their views as to the future of supported housing (post an election) and how we need to engage with new partners etc. Our thanks go to the West Midlands Fire Service who hosted this event at their new 'Safeside' headquarters.
